AFCON Qualifier: We Got Revenge Against Benin Republic, Says Victor Osimhen

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen expressed his satisfaction after Nigeria’s 3-0 victory over Benin Republic in their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier. Reflecting on the match, Osimhen referred to the win as “revenge” for Nigeria’s previous 2-1 loss to Benin in a World Cup qualifier under former coach Finidi George.

In the AFCON qualifier, Osimhen scored one of the goals, with Ademola Lookman adding a brace. Speaking on the **Counter Attack Podcast**, Osimhen noted the significance of the win, saying, “It was a statement win… we gave our all and got the three points.”
