AFCON: Tinubu Applauds Super Eagles for Resilient Performance

President Bola Tinubu has commended the Super Eagles for their remarkable display during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations final held in Ivory Coast, despite their defeat to the host nation.

In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, Tinubu praised the Eagles for showcasing resilience and talent throughout the tournament.

Although the Elephants of Ivory Coast clinched victory in the 2023 CAF African Cup of Nations final with a 2-1 win over the Super Eagles, Tinubu emphasized that Nigeria achieved a significant triumph in the hearts of Africa and the global community.

Tinubu’s statement highlighted, “President Bola Tinubu salutes the Super Eagles of Nigeria for their tenacious performance in the final of the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Côte d’Ivoire.”

He further commended the entire team, including the coach, crew, and management, for their dedication and hard work throughout the tournament, overcoming obstacles with improving performance as they advanced to the finals.

While acknowledging the disappointment of the loss, Tinubu urged Nigerians not to be discouraged, emphasizing the nation’s resilience, unity, and unwavering spirit.

He encouraged Nigerian youths to continue pursuing their dreams, assuring them of support from his administration in their endeavors. Tinubu concluded with a message of unity and determination, rallying the nation to strive for greatness despite temporary setbacks.
