Again the unrelentless Nigerian’s former World Boxing Champion (WBC), Bashiru Lawrence Ali has raised another corruption alarm against a serving Nigerian federal Minister, and some cabinet members.
He raised the alarm in an open letter he personal wrote and addressed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu dated 7th May 2024, titled: Part 2: Corrupt minister John Enoh’s demand for another U$1M”.
Bash Ali had in April 24, 2024, in part 1 of the letter to the President alleged that the Minister of Sports and National Orientation demanded for another US$1 million, saying his refusal to agree was responsible for all the tactics employed to delay or retarded the planned hosting of WBC in Nigeria, expected to earn 3Billion dollars.
Bash Ali in an elaborate letters to President Tinubu, and made available to our correspondent Wednesday, stated that most of the Federal cabinet members of Tinubu administration are very much aware of the problems but refused to intervene.
He stated “My President Sir, in my letter to you dated April 24, 2024, I told you that when you read the text messages between Minister John Enoh and I, it will make you sad that a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria can be so careless and carefree in the discharge of his duties because he cannot get another U$1M demand. I have attached the texts messages here Sir.
“My President Sir, Minister John Enoh is the Chairman of the Bash Ali Boxing Project Local Organizing Committee (LOC) and, the Director of Sport is the secretary but Minister Enoh’s greed for money has blinded his vision and reasoning for the national progress of Nigeria.
“My President Sir, since August 24, 2023 till date John Enoh has refused to call for a meeting with the members of the LOC. He has refused to reply the two letters written to him.
“He has refused to talk about the law suit against his Ministry and the Federal Government. He has purposely sent the LOC file to the wrong place, Boxing Federation, just to punish me and retard the growth of this great nation because I say NO to CORRUPTION”, he stated.
According to him, the sports minster demanded for another US$1 million before doing why he supposed to do a chairman’s of the planned WBC project.
“My President Sir, John Enoh is asking for another U$1M before he does the right thing but inline with the Renewed Hope Agenda, he will not get a Kobo from me to do the right thing”, he insisted emphatically.
In the latter he also copied Hadiza Bala-Usman, SA to President on Policy and Coordination, and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), with his two contacts numbers (07036662806 & 08023186192), reads in parts:

Because I say NO to another $1M demand, John became very cold in his attitude and from the tones of the messages, who here is the boss and who is the servant? Welcome to Nigeria a country where heroes are relegated to the back burner and celebrated at death.
I sent two letters to John Enoh that were on August 24, 2023 and on November 17, 2023 acknowledged in his office. Eight months after the receipt of the letters John Enoh is yet to reply because he is yet to receive another $1M demand..

I gave John another copy of the letter, that was on August 24, 2023 received in his office with a 6ft by 4ft picture of me with President Tinubu, a 7ft by 3ft pull-up banner, 2 Tee shirts and 2 caps of the historic fight because John lied that he was seeing it for the first time.
