Again Gov Ortom Urges FG to Allow Nigerians Carry Weapons

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has Implored the Federal Government to allow Nigerians carry legal weapons to defend themselves against killer Herdsmen and Bandits in the country.


The Governor made this call at the Government House, Makurdi when he played host to members of Tiv Professionals led by the Pro- Chancellor and Chairman Governing Council, Benue State University, Makurdi, Prof. Zakarias Gundu.


Ortom lamented the injustices and lawlessness perpetrated against humanity in the country with impunity which he said should be resisted by well meaning Nigerians.


He noted that those keeping quiet over the aforementioned injustices and provocations were doing themselves more harm than good.
The Governor lauded the Tiv Professionals over their courage and willingness to speak for the people, stressing that he has no doubt in their ability to perform.


Earlier in his remarks, Prof. Gundu pointed out that Nigeria as country has failed its citizens in several ways, adding that it was time for all Nigerians to raise to the challenges.


He urged the Governor whom he described as leader of the Minority Tribes in the country to continue to speak out as well as laise with other leaders believed to be against impunity for faster growth of the nation.
