Alex Iwobi Sets Ambitious Goals for Upcoming Fulham Season

By   Milcah   Tanimu

Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi has expressed determination to improve Fulham’s performance in the upcoming Premier League season. Reflecting on the previous campaign, Iwobi acknowledged that the team struggled with consistency but is optimistic about their potential to climb higher in the league standings.

Iwobi joined Fulham from Everton on September 1, 2023, for a transfer fee of €25.70 million. In his debut season, the versatile player made 33 appearances, scored six goals, and provided two assists. Despite his contributions, Fulham finished 13th on the league table with 47 points, securing 13 wins, 8 draws, and 17 losses.

Speaking with The Standard, Iwobi emphasized Fulham’s capability to perform better. “I can’t wait to get the new season started,” said the 28-year-old. “We had an inconsistent season, but we know our potential. During our end-of-season discussions, we all recognized the quality in the team and agreed to aim higher. Everyone is eager and ready to push up the table.”

Iwobi’s current contract with Fulham runs until June 30, 2028, and his market value stands at €25 million. As the new season approaches, Iwobi and his teammates are focused on achieving a stronger finish and showcasing their true abilities.
