Andrew Wynne Evades Nigeria Police Force Questioning Over Terrorism Financing

By   Milcah   Tanimu

Andrew Wynne, the British national wanted for alleged terrorism financing and subversive activities, has avoided responding to the Nigeria Police Force’s invitations for questioning. Despite his previous claims of willingness to cooperate, Wynne has reportedly fled the country.

On Tuesday, Force Public Relations Officer Olumuyiwa Adejobi announced that Wynne, who had initially expressed readiness to engage with the authorities, has failed to appear for questioning and subsequently left Nigeria. The police have issued multiple invitations to him, which he has disregarded.

In a recent interview with Channels Television, Wynne denied any wrongdoing, asserting that he is not evading the law. He claimed he is willing to communicate through various platforms or meet officials from the Nigerian High Commission in London.

Wynne’s Nigerian wife has defended him, alleging that the accusations against her husband are unfounded and related to a personal dispute with a Nigerian creditor. She asserts that Wynne’s departure was due to routine travel and not an attempt to evade justice.

The Nigeria Police Force has accused Wynne of building a network of sleeper cells to destabilize the government and incite violence. The police have also announced a global search for Wynne and his local coordinator, Lucky Ehis Obiyan, who are both wanted in connection with the investigation.
