Another Fire Outbreak Razes Shanties In Lagos Community

Hours after a fire outbreak destroyed goods worth millions of Nairas at the Apongbo market, on Lagos Island, another fire outbreak has been reported at Marine Beach area of Apapa.

The second fire outbreak destroyed some shanties in the area.

The fire started around 12.45pm, according to some local rescuers.

Most of the affected structures were wooden houses where engine oil were sold in jerrycans.

Ibrahim Farinloye, Public Relations Officer of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), said the fire outbreak started from some shanties in the area.

He said the fire started at about 12.45pm and that it was still burning as of the time of filing this report.

“But the situation is under control as fire service men are battling the inferno,” he said.
