The Spanish shot-stopper, who joined Arsenal permanently from Brentford in the summer of 2024, has secured new terms that include a pay increase from his previous £100,000-per-week deal. Although the club has yet to make an official announcement, BBC Sport reports that the agreement was finalized earlier this summer.
Raya’s contract still runs until 2028, with an option for further extension. The revised terms are viewed as a reward for his consistency and key role since claiming the No. 1 spot at the Emirates.
Since his initial loan move from Brentford in 2023, Raya has become a standout performer, winning the Premier League Golden Glove in his debut season and retaining the award last year, sharing the honour with Nottingham Forest’s Mats Sels.
The improved deal comes as part of Arsenal’s ongoing efforts to secure the futures of their core players. Defender William Saliba recently signed a new five-year contract, Gabriel Magalhães extended his stay until 2029, and talks are advancing with Jurrien Timber over a long-term deal.
There is also growing optimism that Bukayo Saka will soon commit to a new contract, with negotiations reportedly in the final stages.
