Asake Dominates Spotify Nigeria with Record-Breaking Streams for ‘Lungu Boy’

On August 9, 2024, Nigerian artist Asake released his third album, *Lungu Boy*, featuring collaborations with major stars like Wizkid, Central Cee, Stormzy, Travis Scott, and Ludmila. The album has set a new record for the biggest opening week on Spotify Nigeria, accumulating 18.9 million streams. This achievement surpasses the previous record of 14.4 million streams held by Davido’s *Timeless*.

Asake now leads a list of top-performing artists on Spotify Nigeria, which includes heavyweights like Davido, Rema, and Burna Boy. His sophomore album *Work of Art* also made it into the top 10, with 8.3 million streams in its opening week.
