Baale of Amuro Hails Gov. Ododo’s Two Years of Visionary Leadership in Kogi

By Noah Ocheni, Lokoja

The Baale of Amuro Land, His Highness Chief Eric Fiki, has congratulated Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, on his two years in office, praising his visionary leadership and commitment to transforming the state’s economy.

In a congratulatory statement issued on Tuesday in Lokoja, the traditional ruler commended Governor Ododo’s administration for what he described as measurable progress across key sectors, including security, healthcare, education, infrastructure, youth development and women empowerment.

Chief Fiki noted that the Ododo-led government has recorded significant achievements in strengthening security across the state. He highlighted the procurement of PH-20 Unmanned Aerial Systems and the absorption of 2,752 vigilante personnel into the state civil service, developments he said have earned Kogi State a reputation as one of the most peaceful states in the North-Central zone.

According to the monarch, the governor’s strategic approach to tackling banditry, kidnapping and other security threats—through coordinated synergy among security agencies—has laid a solid foundation for lasting peace and stability in the state.

He also applauded the administration’s intervention in infrastructure development, particularly the rehabilitation of the Mopa Township Road and the ongoing projects at the College of Education, Technical, Mopa.

“We appreciate the government’s intervention in rehabilitating the Mopa Township Road and the ongoing infrastructure development at the College of Education, Technical, Mopa,” Chief Fiki said.

While commending the achievements recorded so far, the Baale used the opportunity to remind the governor of his promise to rehabilitate the Orokere–Aiyede–Takete Ide–Ayedayo Road, describing it as a critical route that would significantly improve economic activities and ease transportation for the people of the area.

Chief Fiki reaffirmed the unwavering support of the people of Amuro and Mopamuro Local Government Area for Governor Ododo’s administration, attributing this to the governor’s humility and openness to the needs of the people.

He expressed confidence that the governor’s people-centred leadership style would continue to attract goodwill and support as his administration advances its development agenda for Kogi State.
