Nigeria’s Defence Minister, Muhammad Badaru Abubakar, has visited several drone manufacturing companies in China.

The tour, as stated in a press release, was part of the official visit of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the People’s Republic of China, of which the Defence Minister was a member of the delegation.

According to a statement from Mr. Mati Ali, Special Assistant to the Minister on Media and Communication, the visit aimed to provide Badaru with insight into the facilities that could enhance the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria’s (DICON) capabilities in producing military equipment and hardware in Nigeria.

“The purpose of the tour was to give the Minister the opportunity to view the facilities of companies that could significantly boost DICON’s capabilities in the production of military equipment and hardware in Nigeria,” the statement read.
