Bayelsa Airport Will Integrate Ijaw Nation Into Global Economy

Chairman, Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) Re-Branding Committee, Bayelsa State chapter, Apostle Timiebi G. Kiyaramo has lauded Gov. Duoye Diri for his sincerity and commitment to project implementation, adding that the commencement of commercial flight operations at the Bayelsa International Airport, will integrate the Ijaw nation into the global economy.

Speaking recently with travel journalists at the state airport shortly after the governor and his entourage were received at the airport in a grand reception, Apostle Kiyaramo thanked God for giving wisdom to the initiators of the Bayelsa International Airport project, noting that the airport will

Improve connectivity between the state and the outside world in terms of tourism development which will open the state to the investors. 

While commending Senator Douye Diri for completing the airport project to meet up the conditions put forward by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) to obtain the operational licence to operate the facility, he pointed out that air transport has become an enabler of rapid socio-economic growth and development.

Apostle Kiyaramo also applauded the governor for focusing attention on the sports sector, which according to him resulted in the multiple wins of Bayelsa United Football Club and Bayelsa Queens FC, coupled with the excellent outing of the Nigerian contingent to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games where a daughter of Ijaw nation, Blessing Oborududu won silver medal in wrestling, making the Ijaw nation proud. 

The clergyman expressed hope that the airport will help in stimulating international trade as well as promote tourism, with a view to creating more employment opportunities for the unemployed youths in the  state, assuring that the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria will continue to pray for the sustenance of peace and unity in the state.
