Bayelsa: Police arrests 2, recover arms, ammunitions

Operatives  from the Anti-kidnapping unit of Bayelsa police command, have arrests  armed robbery suspects following a tip off.

The Bayelsa State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Asinim Butswat SP  disclosed this on Tuesday in a statement signed and made available to DAY BREAK NEWS.

The PPRO said, the suspects named,Solomon Ibe 43 years and  Chris Amuka 23 years, were arrested at Ovom Waterside, Yenagoa while trying to ferry one bag of weed suspected to be Indian hemp and one hundred and twenty five rounds of live cartridges, to Southern Ijaw Local Government Area. 

SP Butswat said the Anti-kidnapping Operatives also recovered “one bag of weed suspected to be Indian hemp and one hundred and twenty five rounds of live cartridges, to Southern Ijaw Local Government Area.”

He said, the Suspects are assisting the Police in its investigation.

The Commissioner of Police,Bayelsa State Command, CP Mike Okoli enjoins members of the public to continue to assist the Police with useful information to curtail crime in the State.
