Benue Police Launch Statewide Operations to Tackle Criminals and Banditry

The Benue State Police Command has intensified its fight against crime through a coordinated security initiative, Operation Restore Peace in Benue State. The operation, launched in collaboration with other security agencies, is aimed at dismantling criminal camps, curbing banditry, and restoring safety across the state.

In a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Udeme Edet, on behalf of Commissioner of Police Emenari Ifeanyi, the police said the exercise seeks to recover illegal arms, arrest suspects, and ensure their prosecution under the law.

Commissioner Ifeanyi reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to protecting lives and property, warning individuals who finance or support criminal groups to desist or face prosecution. He assured residents that the police remain determined to combat crime in all its forms.The Commissioner also appealed to members of the public to remain law-abiding and cooperate with security agencies in their efforts to make Benue State safer.
