Board appointments -Jos South APC stakeholders reject appointment of Prof Ishaya Pam

By Isreal Adamu, Jos

Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress in Jos South Local government council of Plateau State on Saturday petitioned President Bola Tinubu to express disappointment over his choice of appointment of Prof Ishaya Pam as Governing council member of the Federal College of Education Yauri ,Yobe State .

In a petition signed by Hon Pam Dalyop Mwanvwang the Chairman, All Progressives Congress Jos South LGA and made available to newsmen in Jos reads that “We, members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State, wish to express our strong disapproval of the recent appointment of Prof. Ishaya Pam as a member of the Governing Council of the Federal College of Education (Technical) Yauri, Yobe State, by His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.’

The petition which was handed over to the State Chairman of the APC Hon. Rufus Bature for submission to President Bola Tinubu reads that “Our concerns are grounded in the fact that Prof. Pam is neither a member of our party nor has he demonstrated any form of allegiance to the APC at any level. ”

According to the petition “His stance against everything that seeks to advance the fortunes of the APC is further evident in his current status as a Special Adviser to the Barr. Caleb Mutfwang led People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Government in Plateau State.”

“This lack of alignment with our party’s values and principles and open antagonism of our growth in the State raises serious doubts about his suitability for a position that should be filled by someone who has steadfastly supported the APC. ”

The statement further reads that Moreover, Prof. Pam’s past actions, including promoting the candidacy of a rival political party, further highlight his disconnect from our party’s objectives.”

The APC family in Jos South LGA firmly believe that Prof. Pam’s appointment will impede our party’s progress and the effective implementation of its policies during these challenging times.

” We urge President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to reconsider this decision and select a candidate from among the many dedicated APC members who have consistently demonstrated their commitment to the party’s manifesto and the Renewed Hope philosophy.”

” Respectfully Mr. President, this petition at this crucial time emphasises the need for our voices to be heard and the right thing to be done. It is imperative that our concerns are considered to safeguard the integrity and effectiveness of our party. “We are committed to ensuring that our party remains strong and united, and we believe that appointing a loyal and dedicated APC member to this position is crucial.”

” We trust in your capacity to address our concerns and to reinforce our belief in party loyalty and merit-based appointments. We urge that a more suitable candidate who aligns with the APC’s values and goals be appointed.” The petition further reads.
