BREAKING: Court Reinstates Suspended Edo LG Chairman

An Edo State High Court sitting in Igarra, Akoko-Edo Local Government Area, has overturned the impeachment of Taju Alade, the elected chairman of the local government, declaring the action illegal and ordering his immediate reinstatement.

Delivering the ruling on Wednesday, Justice B.A. Okoh held that the court had the jurisdiction to hear the case, contrary to the state government’s argument. He also directed the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, to provide adequate security for Alade’s return to office.
