BREAKING: JAMB Begins Rescheduling UTME for 379,997 Affected Candidates in South-East, Lagos

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has commenced the rescheduling process for 379,997 candidates affected by errors in the recently concluded 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

This move followed the announcement by JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, during a press briefing in Abuja on Wednesday, where he acknowledged the errors and took full responsibility for the issues.

According to Oloyede, a total of 206,610 candidates were affected across 65 centres in Lagos, while 173,387 candidates were impacted in 92 centres across the five South-East states under the Owerri examination zone.

“The affected candidates will start receiving rescheduled exam notifications via text messages from tomorrow,” he stated.

In line with the announcement, reprinted exam slips reviewed by our correspondent confirm that some candidates have already been assigned new dates. One such candidate in Lagos has been rescheduled to take her UTME on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 12 noon in a centre located in the Igando area of Alimosho Local Government.

JAMB says all affected candidates will be duly informed of their new exam dates and venues in the coming days.
