Breaking News: Demolition Begins at Rivers State Assembly Complex Amid Political Crisis

The political unrest in Rivers State escalates as approximately 10 bulldozers enter the premises of the state House of Assembly, initiating the demolition of the complex. Prior to the demolition, the factional Speaker, Edison Ehie, led a session with lawmakers loyal to the governor.

During the session, Ehie stated that the complex required repairs due to the explosion on October 30, 2023. He assured that the governor would provide an alternative location for temporary sittings during the reconstruction.

The ongoing demolition is being executed under heightened security measures. Further details to follow.
