BREAKING: PDP Refutes Anyanwu’s Forgery Allegation, Says He Signed Convention Letters Himself

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has rejected claims by its National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, alleging that his signature was forged on official documents related to the party’s upcoming national convention.

Addressing journalists in Abuja on Monday, the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, speaking on behalf of the National Working Committee (NWC), said Anyanwu personally signed the letters in question — including the notification sent to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announcing the convention scheduled for November 15 and 16 in Ibadan, Oyo State.

Ologunagba explained that the documents were signed on August 25, just hours before the party’s 102nd National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, and in the presence of several top party leaders.

Those present, according to him, included Governor Ahmadu Fintiri (Adamawa), Governor Bala Mohammed (Bauchi), Governor Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Governor Ademola Adeleke (Osun), Governor Dauda Lawal (Zamfara), former Minister of Special Duties Tanimu Turaki, and former Senate President Bukola Saraki, among others.

He added that during the NEC session, Governor Bala Mohammed — who also serves as Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum — publicly confirmed that all relevant documents, including the INEC notification, had been duly signed by Anyanwu.

The party’s clarification comes amid rising internal tensions ahead of the November convention, which is expected to set the stage for leadership restructuring within the PDP.
