Court sacks Kano SIECOM Chairman 72hrs to LG Elections

By Achadu Gabriel, KADUNA

A Federal High Court sitting in Kano has sacked Prof. Sani Lawan Malumfashi as Chairman of the Kano State Independent Electoral Commission (KANSIEC).

Justice Simon Amobeda on Tuesday, gave the ruling, in a case filed by one Aminu Aliyu Tiga and All Progressive Congress (APC).

Justice Amobeda ruled that Malumfashi was disqualified for being a political party card-carrying member.

However, this is coming in less than 72 hours into the local government elections, slated for October 26, 2024 across the 44 LGAs in the state.

Efforts to make him comment on the court decision proved abortive as he refuses to speak to newsmen today.
