Davido to Headline First Concert at Madison Square Garden as Part of Timeless Tour

By Milcah Tanimu

In a monumental stride for his career, Davido is set to headline his inaugural concert at Madison Square Garden as part of his extended Timeless Tour, masterfully produced by Duke Concept and spanning North America.

The much-anticipated tour is scheduled to commence with a spectacular show at Madison Square Garden, followed by an enchanting performance at Montreal’s Place Bell on April 19, concluding with a memorable finale at Orlando’s Additional Financial Arena on April 24.

Expressing his excitement, Davido shared, “Seven years ago, I walked past Madison Square Garden and looked at it and said, ‘We gonna come back and shut this down.’ So to be here now, able to play Madison Square Garden, in New York, one of the first cities and fans to embrace my music, at this iconic venue … it’s a dream come true.”

This historic performance follows the trailblazing success of fellow Nigerian artists at MSG, with Burna Boy’s groundbreaking stint in April 2022 and Wizkid’s unforgettable concert in November 2022, showcasing the increasing impact of Nigerian music on the global stage.

Adding to the excitement, Davido is nominated in prestigious categories for the upcoming 2024 Grammy Awards, including Best African Music Performance for his summer hit “Unavailable” with Musa Keys and Best Global Music Album for his critically acclaimed fourth studio album, “Timeless.”

Released through Davido Music Worldwide in March 2023, “Timeless” achieved an impressive No. 37 on the Billboard 200 and claimed the No. 2 spot on World Albums. The album’s title track, “Timeless,” secured notable positions at No. 3 on both U.S. Afrobeats Songs and World Digital Song Sales charts.

As anticipation builds for this groundbreaking event, fans and music enthusiasts alike can look forward to an unparalleled musical experience as Davido takes the stage at Madison Square Garden, solidifying his legacy as a global music icon.
