The Office of the Chief of Defence Staff, in collaboration with the Centre for Ethical Conduct Orientation and Empowerment (CECOE), is set to roll out a landmark humanitarian initiative themed “Operation Care and Kindness.”
Scheduled for December 19 and 20 at 10:00 a.m. daily, the program will provide Yuletide welfare and humanitarian relief packages to some of the nation’s most vulnerable groups.
According to the conveners, the initiative aims to strengthen civil-military relations by fostering trust and collaboration between the armed forces and the civilian population. It will also extend critical support to individuals in trenches, orphanages, and internally displaced persons (IDP) camps.
Powered by the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa, and implemented by CECOE under the leadership of Dr. David Owah, Operation Care and Kindness seeks to highlight the compassionate leadership of the Chief of Defence Staff while expanding the military’s role in community empowerment and humanitarian efforts.
“This event marks a historic milestone in bridging the gap between the military and civilian communities. This program’s focus will be on providing relief to the most affected communities during this festive season.” They added.
The organizers are optimistic that the initiative will not only bring immediate relief to the targeted populations, but also serve as a lasting symbol of solidarity and care from the nation’s defense forces.
