When a leader restores hope and gives people a reason to breathe again, gratitude becomes a duty.
The recent gesture by the Executive Governor of Kano State, **Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf**, reflects leadership defined by justice, fairness, and inclusiveness. His compassion and commitment to the welfare of the people—irrespective of political affiliation—stand as a shining example of good governance.
In a move that touched thousands of families, the Governor recently **disbursed over ₦5 billion** to clear a backlog of gratuities and outstanding severance packages inherited from the previous administration. This followed earlier payments amounting to **₦27 billion out of a ₦48 billion liability** in unpaid gratuities and death benefits since 2023. He has further pledged to settle the remaining balance by **2027, Insha Allah**.
What makes this even more remarkable is that a substantial portion of these payments benefited former councillors who served under the **previous APC administration**—a demonstration of leadership that transcends political boundaries.
Such magnanimity deserves royal recognition.
Governor Yusuf’s administration has consistently prioritized human and capital development, restoring **sanity, equity, and accountability** in governance. His empathy for pensioners and civil servants has rekindled public trust in government institutions.
Those attempting to tarnish his image fail to recognize the depth of his achievements. Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf is not just a political leader; he is a **symbol of service, humility, and continuity**. His stewardship under the **Kwankwasiyya ideology**, inspired by **Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso**, remains steadfast and unbroken. Any attempt to sow discord between the two men or among NNPP loyalists is both baseless and futile.
Today, Kano stands tall among Nigerian states, driven by a governor whose intellect, discipline, and compassion have restored dignity to public service. His policies speak louder than propaganda; his results silence detractors.
Indeed, Kano State is in safe hands.
Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf has earned not only the loyalty of his people but also their admiration. He is a model of responsive governance and a testament to what true public service looks like.
**He remains the people’s governor — deserving of royal treatment from the good citizens of Kano State and beyond.**
