Amgbare Ekaunkumo, Yenagoa

The immediate past Vice Chairman of Southern Ijaw Local Government Area, Evangelist Parkins Ogede has called on those who participated in the recently concluded continuous voters registration to approach the Independent National Electoral Commission Office and other collection points to collect their permanent voters card.

Evangelist Parkins Ogede made the call while fielding questions from newsmen in Yenagoa.

The former Vice Chairman of Southern Ijaw Local Government, Evangelist Parkins Ogede stated that the permanent voters card is a powerful weapon for the electorate to exercise their franchise and elect leaders of their choice.

He advised them not to regard the PVC as a mere means of identification but rather a tool to vote responsible and credible leaders that will ensure good governance in the country.

Evangelist Parkins Ogede enjoined non indigenes living in Bayelsa State to regard the state as their home and participate actively in the political process of selecting leaders at different levels of governance.

He advised them to disabuse the wrong impression that votes do not count in Nigeria.

He urged INEC officials to identify and ensure that the PVCs are distributed to the actual owners.

He thanked Governor Douye Diri and his Deputy Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo for creating the enabling environment the successful conduct of the just concluded continuous voters registration in the state.
