Farmer’s Bride Joins the ₦100 Million Club at the Box Office

The Nollywood film *Farmer’s Bride*, released on September 27, 2024, has officially crossed the ₦100 million mark at the box office. Produced and distributed by FilmOne Studios, the film has grossed ₦113.6 million as of its latest figures, solidifying its place among the year’s top earners.

Directed by Adebayo Tijani and Jack’enneth Opukeme, the movie has captured the hearts of audiences across Nigeria and Ghana. FilmOne Studios expressed their excitement in a statement:

“₦100 million in the bag! Kicking off this new week with this mega-milestone. Thank you Nigeria and Ghana for the love and support you’ve shown this movie. *Farmer’s Bride* is still showing in all cinemas. Don’t miss this number-one movie!”

Earlier this month, *Farmer’s Bride* recorded ₦89 million in ticket sales within just 12 days of its release. Its opening weekend saw a ₦37 million haul, making it the second-highest-grossing film for that weekend, only behind *Queen Lateefah*. Additionally, it set the record for the highest Nollywood opening weekend for an 18-rated film in 2024 and the 4th highest overall in 2024.

Plot and Cast
Set in 1980s Ibadan, *Farmer’s Bride* follows the story of Odun, a wealthy farmer who marries a young bride, Funmi, hoping to find happiness. However, their marriage faces turmoil when Funmi embarks on a forbidden affair with Odun’s nephew, leading to a gripping tale of love, betrayal, and supernatural consequences.

The film stars popular actors, including Tobi Bakre, Gbubemi Ejeye, Femi Branch, Mercy Aigbe, Efe Irele, and Wumi Toriola.
