The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has extended warm felicitations to Muslim faithful across Nigeria as they commence fasting in the holy month of Ramadan.
In a statement released by the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), Senator George Akume, CON, on behalf of FEC, congratulated the Muslim community on the sighting of the moon, marking the beginning of Ramadan.
According to the statement signed by the Director of Information & Public Relations, Segun Imohiosen, Senator Akume urged Muslims to use the sacred month to reflect on its core teachings of piety, steadfastness, love, charity, and sacrifice. He emphasized the importance of adhering to the principles of the Holy Qur’an and the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) for spiritual rejuvenation and national development.
The statement also highlighted the various interventions by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, in addressing critical national issues, including food security, poverty alleviation, economic growth, job creation, access to capital, security, and youth empowerment.
Senator Akume concluded by wishing the Muslim faithful a blessed and fulfilling Ramadan, encouraging all Nigerians to embrace the spirit of unity and national progress during this holy period.
