Fireboy Discusses Artist Conflicts in Nigerian Music

Must read

By   Milcah   Tanimu

In a recent interview with City FM, Nigerian artist Fireboy shared his perspective on the ongoing conflicts between musicians, particularly the recent showdown between Wizkid and Davido. He stated that disagreements are a normal part of the music industry, emphasizing that artists are human and that beef is simply part of the creative process.

“Everyone should just focus on what concerns them. Let artists be artists, fans be fans, and the media keep telling the stories,” Fireboy remarked. He reinforced his desire to maintain a drama-free life, stating, “Beef, everything is all normal. We are all human.”

During the interview, Fireboy also discussed his recently released fourth album, *Adedamola*, which features collaborations with prominent artists like Lagbaja, Jon Baptiste, Seun Kuti, and Spinall. He revealed that the collaborations with Lagbaja and Seun Kuti were suggested by YBNL boss Olamide, who served as the album’s executive producer.

Artist conflicts are not new to the Nigerian music scene. The industry has witnessed notable disputes over the years, including the rivalry between Ruger and BNXN, who later reconciled to release a joint EP titled *RnB*. Similarly, the public feud between Davido and Burna Boy continues without resolution, echoing the tensions between Wizkid and Davido that have recently escalated.
