Chichi, a former finalist of Big Brother Naija’s ‘Shine Ya Eye’ season, has reportedly initiated a defamation lawsuit against her co-star, Phyna.
According to rumors, Chichi is seeking N100 million in damages as compensation for the alleged defamatory statements made by Phyna during the BBNaija Reunion.
Phyna purportedly accused Chichi of abandoning her spouse and children in Benin City, which supposedly resulted in the tragic death of one of her children. Furthermore, Phyna claimed that Chichi manipulated her deceased parents’ story as a strategy to secure victory in the competition. Additionally, Phyna made derogatory remarks about Chichi’s age, labeled her a stripper, and even alleged that she poisoned a friend in Cyprus out of envy. These allegations were reportedly shared by Phyna through a series of posts on Snapchat.
In response to these accusations, Chichi has taken legal action against Phyna, enlisting the services of her legal representatives. Chichi’s lawyers argue that Phyna’s claims of poisoning and other defamatory statements are false, malicious, and intended to harm Chichi’s reputation. The lawsuit emphasizes the detrimental impact of Phyna’s comments, resulting in the loss of several endorsement deals for Chichi.
Through this legal recourse, Chichi aims to protect her reputation and seek compensation for the damages inflicted by Phyna’s defamatory statements.
