Fruits every cancer patient should consume regularly

Various cancer types have varying effects on the health of afflicted people, but one thing to note is that regardless of what type it is, it has painful and unpleasant effects on people who have cancer. These effects can be really unbearable, but with the help of the right dieting choices and the perfect fruit combination, these effects can be reduced to the barest minimum. Chemotherapy has a lot of side effects. Effects such as fatigue, anemia, nausea, vomiting, changes in appetite, diarrhea, constipation, painful swallowing, dry mouth, mouth sores, impaired focus, and mood changes. Filling your body with fruits help provide the required nutrients. It is also important to note that different symptoms appear for different people hence it is a bit difficult to recommend a universal dietary plan for all cancer patients. The diets should be tailored according to your specific symptoms.
Fruits that can help cancer patients include; Orange, Apple, Pear, Bananas, Lemons.
1. Oranges: Oranges are the most common and most readily available type pf citrus fruit, widely favored for its sweet taste, attractive color, and impeccable nutrient profile. Oranges boost of nutrients such as potassium, carbohydrate, vitamins A, C, D, B-6, Cobalamin, Magnesium, and iron.
Vitamin C can help raise immunity and can help strengthen your immune system during and after cancer treatment. Vitamin C from oranges can also boost the absorption of iron from foods. This helps protect against anemia, a common side effect of chemotherapy. Research suggests that vitamin C may reduce the growth and spread of cancer cells.
2. Apple: Apples are high in nutrients such as potassium, vitamin c, and fiber. The fiber content in Apple can aid digestive movement, and keep things moving along the digestive tract. Meanwhile, its vitamin c content can be very useful in building and supporting the immune function and battling the growth of cancerous cells. Potassium is a great way to control your fluid balance. It can help in preventing fluid retention which is a very common side effect of chemotherapy.
3. Pear: Bearing slight similarities with apples in terms of taste, it is also a very nutritious fruit. Pears can easily be incorporated as part of a diet plan. Their main nutrients are copper, vitamin c, vitamin k and a rich stash of fiber. Like the other fruits on this list, pears contain compounds that can fight cancer. Copper plays a part in immune function and makes your body less susceptible to infections and this is extremely important for cancer patients. According to various research findings, the consumption of apples and pears regularly translates to a lower risk of development in lung cancer. Also anthocyanins a plant pigment found in pears according to test-tube studies have been linked with decreases in cancer growth and tumor development.
4. Bananas: Bananas contain nutrients such as vitamins B6 and C, Manganese, Potassium and a type of fiber called pectin. Pectin has been said to be beneficial to cancer patients who experience diarrhea as side effects from chemo. Potassium being one of its nutrients means bananas can help in the replenishment of electrolytes lost due to vomiting and diarrhea.
5. Lemons: Lemons are characterized by their sour taste, lemons at high in vitamin c and also contains vitamin B6, Potassium and iron. Lemons have been found to inhibit the growth of cancer cells and may boost your mood and alleviate stress.
