Funke Akindele, a famous Nigerian actress and filmmaker, has been appointed as the National Goodwill Ambassador for UNAIDS in Nigeria. She will now lead efforts to raise awareness about HIV prevention and promote key health messages across the country.
Akindele’s appointment underscores her dedication to public health. As a Goodwill Ambassador, she will work with local communities and health organizations to educate Nigerians on HIV and reduce stigma.
Akindele is also known for her hit movie Everybody Loves Jenifa. The film made ₦206 million in its opening weekend, setting a box office record.
This new role as UNAIDS ambassador further strengthens Akindele’s influence. She is not only a top Nollywood star but also an advocate for important health causes. With her track record, she is set to make a significant impact in the fight against HIV/AIDS in Nigeria.
