Benue State Governor, Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia, has accused some forces in Abuja including National Assembly Members from the state over plots to destabilize his administration.

The Governor who spoke through his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, in a statement contended thus: “Devious plans by some forces in Abuja comprising members of the National Assembly to destabilize Gov. Hyacinth Alia’s administration have continued to gather steam.”

Continuing, the Governor maintained that” we have smelt this on many fronts, particularly following the torrent of divisive concoctions sponsored in the media by this same agents of underdevelopment.”

Governor Alia, particularly expressed dismay over the allegation by the Senator representing Benue South, Aba Moro, that the recent dissolution of the elected local government officials by the Benue State House of Assembly was the cause of insecurity in the state.

“Sen Aba Moro is a serial beneficiary of the caretaker committee system in Benue State under the same 1999 constitution as amended. He has served in the same capacity in Okpokwu Local Government Area for some years back”, pointing out that the Government of Benue State is worried because such insinuation coming from a person of Sen Moro standing should not be overlooked.

Reacting to the recent press conference by a member of the House of Representatives from Benue State, Hon Philip Agbese, where he made comments about security votes for the state, the Governor accused the parliamentarian for lying about the security votes for the state.

“We make bold to state unequivocally here that security votes for Benue has never risen to N1b, needles to mention N3b under, Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia’s administration,” the statement further read in part.
