Benue State Governor, Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia, has applauded the Federal Government and the Nigerian Armed Forces over their continued support to Benue State.
Governor Alia gave this commendation at the graduation ceremony of course 9 of the Air War College held at the Nigerian Air Force Base, Makurdi.
He stressed that the state has enjoyed relative peace in the last four months shortly after he assumed office, due to the presence and support of the armed forces, stating that more needed to be done towards lasting peace.
The Governor, further pointed out that the presence of the armed forces in the state and their engagement in significant events will create confidence and hope for people of Benue State, stating that he feels elated by the success recorded by the graduands.
While congratulating the graduands, the governor charged them to continue to be good ambassadors of their country, asserting that Benue remains the most hospitable state in the country.
Earlier in his address, the Ministry of Defense, Mohammed Abubakar, represented by the Chief of Defense Staff, General Christopher Musa, commended the Nigerian Armed Forces for constantly repositioning itself with a strong focus on human capital development, aimed at curtailing the threats posed by insurgents and bandits in Benue State and Nigeria as a whole.
