Benue State Governor, Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia, has directed security operatives to rescue the wife of Terwase Orbunde, former Chief of Staff to the immediate past Governor, Samuel Ortom, and house help from their abductors.

It could be recalled that armed men allegedly attacked the former Chief of Staff to the Governor of Benue State, Terwase Orbunde, wife and house help at the weekend while they were inspecting weeding of their farm close to the Genocide Cemetery, Makurdi, where the kidnapers whisked away, Mrs Abigail Orbunde and their house help, Patience Ogute, leaving Mr Orbunde in his pull of blood.

The Governor who condemned in strong terms the unfortunate incident in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, assured of his administration’s willingness to continue to provide the necessary support needed by security operatives to tackle insecurity in the state.

“I have said this, and I will keep saying it, security should and must be everyone’s concern. The Law Enforcement Agencies and the Government need information. Make it a culture that anytime you see something, you say something.”

He pointed out that the present government under his watch has accorded security topmost priority, assuring that insecurity will soon be a thing of the past. He said he will continue to work tirelessly to secure lives and property of Benue citizens.
