Gov. Obaseki Appoints Okungbowa as Chief Press Secretary

The Edo State governor, Godwin Obaseki, has approved the appointment an Editor and Travel journalist, Mr. Andrew Okungbowa, as his new chief press secretary.

Osarodion Ogie, Secretary to the Edo state government, in a statement on Tuesday, July 25th, stated that Okungbowa’ s appointment takes immediate effect.

Okungbowa is a graduate of Theatre Arts from the University of Benin and also holds a Master’s degree in English from the University of Lagos. He was a former president of the Association of Travel and Tourism writers of Nigeria ( Anjet) and weekend editor with the Daily Telegraph newspapers in lagos.

Andrew Okungbowa, at the peak of his career, joined the Guardian newspapers, and helped stabilized the Association of Tour Operators of Nigeria ( Natop) as Executive Secretary, and before his appointment, he was the Special Adviser on inter government relations to the President, Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria ( FTAN) Mr Nkereweum Onung.
