Gov. Ododo Calls on Kogites to Unite for Development

By Noah Ocheni, Lokoja

The Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, on Wednesday in Lokoja, called on the people of Kogi State, regardless of political affiliation, to join hands with him in moving the state to a higher level of economic and infrastructural development.

Governor Ododo made this appeal at a reception organized in his honor to celebrate his victory at the Supreme Court. He emphasized that Kogi State is rich in mineral deposits and that these resources can only be fully harnessed for the state’s benefit if its people remain united and support the current administration.

“I am calling on everyone to join us in developing Kogi State. This is the only state we can truly call our own. Kogi is blessed with enormous mineral resources, and I urge all and sundry to come home and support my administration so that we can serve the state better,” he stated.

He further added, “As a political party, the APC has a philosophy of development, and my doors are always open for advice. I need your cooperation and support so that, together, we can take the state to the promised land, where it will be a center of attraction to other states in the country.”

Governor Ododo also appealed to Nigerians to support President Ahmed Bola Tinubu to help him achieve his commendable programs for the nation. He stated that the President has implemented measures to revive the country’s economy and alleviate hardship.

While expressing his gratitude to the immediate past governor of the state, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, for laying a solid foundation for his administration, Governor Ododo emphasized that he was not trained to be a “noisemaker” but rather to feel the people’s pulse and attend to their needs.

He assured that he would prioritize the welfare of the people of Kogi State, emphasizing that he has no reason to fail those who entrusted him with the mandate.

Earlier, the APC Chairman of Kogi State, Hon. Abdullahi Bello, urged Governor Ododo to be magnanimous in his victory at the Supreme Court by allowing some members who left the party to return after explaining the reasons for their defection before the governorship election.

“I congratulate Governor Ododo on his victory. Now that the distractions from litigation are over, the people expect you to deliver even more dividends of democracy, and we are confident you will not fail them,” the chairman said.
