Governor Ademola Adeleke will present Osun’s 2025 budget before the state House of Assembly on Wednesday, according to a statement by House Speaker Adewale Egbedun during Tuesday’s plenary. The governor’s letter, dated November 11, outlined plans to submit the budget draft, which has been approved by the state executive council.
Governor Adeleke’s letter emphasized that presenting the draft budget at year-end aligns with state regulations, allowing timely approval for implementation.
Additionally, the House paid tribute to the late Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, with a moment of silence, led by Mr. Adekunle Oladimeji, representative for Irepodun/Orolu Constituency, Lagbaja’s hometown.
The assembly also addressed the Osun State Property Protection Bill 2024, which passed its first reading, and the Osun State Drug and Medical Supply Management Agency Establishment Bill 2024, advancing to the second reading after lawmakers highlighted its benefits for Osun’s healthcare. Lastly, the assembly delved into discussions on the Osun State Consumer Protection Agency Establishment Bill 2024.
