Group Praises Governor Uba for Security and Development in Kaduna

By Milcah Tanimu

The Centre for Convention on Democratic Integrity (CCDI) has commended Kaduna State Governor Sanni Uba for his significant contributions to enhancing security and sustainable development in the state.

Olufemi Aduwo, the group’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, highlighted in a statement that Kaduna State, previously known for violence and insecurity, has transformed into a safe haven under Governor Uba’s administration. Aduwo noted that this shift has made the state more welcoming for residents, visitors, and investors.

“Governor Sanni Uba’s administration has created an enabling environment through deliberate policies that enhance the safety of lives and property,” Aduwo stated. He emphasized that without peace and security, sustainable development is unattainable, referencing Sustainable Development Goal 16, which focuses on peace and justice.

Aduwo, who also chairs the CSO-Africa Countries Group of the World Bank Civil Society Policy Forum, praised Governor Uba’s leadership and commitment to fostering a peaceful environment. He pointed out that these efforts have made Kaduna State attractive to foreign investors.

“Governor Uba’s initiatives and policies have significantly reduced conflict, enhanced public safety, and promoted social harmony. These efforts have created a stable and secure atmosphere, enabling local communities and stakeholders to engage in sustainable development projects,” Aduwo said.

He further noted that the improved security in Kaduna has laid a strong foundation for achieving various Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including access to quality education, healthcare, economic growth, and environmental sustainability.

Aduwo called on the immediate-past Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, to cooperate with ongoing investigations into the use of state resources during his administration. He stated that this cooperation would support Governor Uba’s commitment to transparent and accountable governance.

“CCDI commends Governor Sanni for transforming Kaduna into a beacon of peace and development. His dedication to inclusive governance and collaborative problem-solving has significantly improved the quality of life for the people and set a commendable example for other states in Northern Nigeria,” Aduwo concluded.

The group expressed confidence that under Governor Uba’s continued leadership, Kaduna State will remain a model for peaceful coexistence and sustainable progress.
