I have the qualities and experience to be Taraba state Governor, says Dr Helkiah

As battle for the People’s Democratic Party PDP’s flag bearer in the 2023 Governorship election is gaining momentum, Dr. Hilkiya Bubajoda Mafindi one of the governorship aspirants under PDP has expressed confidence of his emergence as the party’s candidate for the gubernatorial race in the forthcoming primaries.

Dr. Hilkiyah gave the assurance while unveiling his blueprint to Journalists in Jalingo.

“You know that Northern Tarabans play a very significant role in the state politics, I believe that is a way of sending political signals toward the deligates election that I will get there by the grace of God, if we can organize and have a very successful election where victory is determine by the delegates, am sure of a very positive victory for that matter”. He explained.

Dr. Mafindi said he is in a better position to make the difference because apart from traversing the public service where he worked with all the Chief Executives of Taraba State since inception of this democracy in 1999 where he faced challenges and resolved them, then saw opportunities and viewed the state in its true perspective.

Speaking on consensus candidature, Dr. Hilkiyah said it is a transparent process that will engage all critical stakeholders of the party in the state including all aspirants to understand and accept why one aspirant should be the sole candidate for the party.

According to the PDP, Stalwart there should also be a parameter that should be clearly spelt out that will eventually draw up the candidates of the party in Taraba State and by that nobody will be opposed to that.

The technocrat per Excellence, Dr. Mafindi, said apart from his many years of experience, he was Personal Assistant and Senior Special Assistant to Governor Jolly Nyame between 1999-2006, Executive Chairman, Taraba State Universal Basic Education Board, 2007-2015, Executive Chairman, Taraba State Planning Commission, 2016-2020, Taraba State Representative on Federal Government Committee on Non Oil Exports Agenda National “Zero oil plan”, 2017-2020 and member, Taraba State Boundary Commission, 2017-2020 among other responsibilities.

” With this track record, am convinced beyond any reasonable doubt that I will translate my rich public experience into governance and that is what the state is yearning for now,’ he said.
