“I once used toilet water to soak garri” – Laycon recounts hard times

“I once resorted to extreme measures during tough times,” Laycon, the winner of Big Brother Naija Lockdown Season 5, revealed as he shared a poignant moment from his past.

Laycon recounted a challenging experience from 2013 when he found himself without food or money. Struggling with starvation, he had no choice but to use toilet water to soak garri, a staple food, for sustenance.

Reflecting on the incident, Laycon emphasized the severity of his situation, noting that he wasn’t merely hungry but truly starving. With no access to sugar or clean water, he had to make do with what was available, even as tears streamed down his face while preparing the meal.
