Abuja-based real estate mogul, arc. Umoh sunday, has praised the umo eno-led administration’s decision to invest in an 18-story akwa ibom tower in lagos, calling it a strategic step toward diversifying akwa ibom’s economy.

In a conversation with newsmen, arc. Sunday described the tower, set to rise on aboyade cole street in victoria island, as a smart investment that would spur economic growth. He emphasized the need for forward-thinking leaders who prioritize innovative investments to boost revenue and create jobs.

“this project by governor umo eno is a game-changer. It promises substantial revenue and job opportunities for akwa ibom residents. The governor’s foresight and commitment are admirable,” said sunday.

Arc. Sunday highlighted that the tower would significantly enhance akwa ibom’s economic standing, create employment, and increase its regional influence. He lauded governor eno’s dedication to development, noting that the project reflects his forward-looking governance and commitment to akwa ibom’s prosperity.

Projected to generate up to n100 billion, the 18-story building is expected to boost akwa ibom’s economy and establish the state as a key player in nigeria’s real estate sector. The groundbreaking ceremony was led by lagos state governor babajide sanwo-olu, with former akwa ibom governors victor attah and udom emmanuel and other dignitaries in attendance.

Governor eno explained that the project aims to generate income and job opportunities for the state, emphasizing the need for resilient leadership in forward-looking investments. “when leaders invest in projects like this, there will be challenges, but vision is about looking beyond the immediate,” he said.

“with ibom towers, akwa ibom and lagos are showing how collaboration and shared vision can drive prosperity, ushering in economic innovation despite national financial challenges,” eno added, highlighting his appreciation for the partnership and the project’s bipartisan significance. “this is true bipartisanship, a vision beyond political affiliations.”

Governor eno also expressed gratitude to president bola ahmed tinubu for his role in lagos’s development and urged patience through nigeria’s current reforms. “these reforms may be challenging, but their impact will be long-lasting,” he assured.

Strategically located in the heart of victoria island, ibom towers will be an iconic structure that strengthens economic ties and attracts investments, benefiting both lagos and akwa ibom.

Governor sanwo-olu welcomed the project, highlighting lagos’s role as nigeria’s commercial hub. Adding a light-hearted note, he said, “I look forward to deepening this relationship. Who knows, I might even invest in an oil well in akwa ibom.”

Imo-abasi jacob, managing director of the akwa ibom investment corporation (akicorp), provided details on ibom towers, describing it as a premium development designed to attract urban professionals. “with luxury apartments, gyms, pools, and smart building technology, the tower will offer high-end residences while generating revenue through property leases and tourism, driving gdp growth in both states,” jacob explained.

In their goodwill messages, former governor victor attah, the oba of lagos, the president general of the akwa ibom state traditional rulers council, the speaker of the akwa ibom assembly, and the secretary to the state government celebrated ibom towers as a catalyst for revenue growth and job creation.
