It is not the end of Adeleke – Atiku

By Jennifer Y Omiloli

The presidential candidate of the People Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has reacted minutes after the Supreme Court judgement declared Gboyega Oyetola as the duly elected governor of Osun state.

Atiku pointed out that though the Supreme Court may have declared in favour of Oyetola, it is not the end of Senator Ademola Adeleke.

“The Supreme Court has ruled and because of its judicial finality, the legal case is over. However, the love, acceptance and endorsement that the people of Osun bestowed on both Senator Adeleke and the Peoples Democratic Party is not over and cannot be overlooked,” Atiku said.

The PDP’s presidential candidate, who is also at the tribunal concerning his defeat by President Muhammadu Buhari, added:

“This is not the end. Not even the beginning of the end. No. Today marks the continued ascendancy of Senator Adeleke and his party in the hearts and minds of his people.”

The former vice president said he and other Nigerians would continue to stand with Adeleke and the people of Osun in good times and difficult days.

He said the people of the state had expected that the progress and development that the Adeleke family had consistently brought to Osun would be translated to their governance.

Atiku guaranteed the general population of the province of Osun that the PDP recollects their affection and acknowledgment and would always remember to remain by them regardless of the circumstance.

He likewise encouraged the country’s judiciary to take a beat of the nation and reflect it, particularly since God had put an extraordinary duty on judges.
