The US President, Joe Bin has donated the sum of $ 55 billion to support Africa’s trade deals for a three yeares plan to boost economi development in the Region.

Biden said that the $ 55 billion grant is to boost public, private investment , aid and trade deals across Africa including a $504 million infrastucture package aimed at connecting Benin Port at Cotonou to Niamey in Niger Republic.

The US- Africa Leaders Summit held in Washington DC, USA, from 12th to 15th December 2022, was aimed at revitalizing the US relations with the African Continent through economic engagement, peace, security , food , good governance and climate change.

Furthermore, the US President Joe Biden at the Summit officially announced his support for the integration of AU into the G20 as a permanent member.

Forty – nine African countries comprising Heads of AU, AU Regional Economic Communities and 300 CEOs from US met at Washington DC Summit to hold talks on the Integration of the AU into the G20.

Also talks held at the Summit hinged on ways to revitalize the US relations with the African continent through new economic engagement; peace, security, and good governance; food security; and the climate crisis.

Meanwhile, President of the ECOWAS Commission, Dr. Omar Aliue Touray used the occasion to hold a bilateral meeting with the World Bank Regional Vice President for Western and Central Africa, Mr. Ousmane Diagana and his team on fine-tuning smooth implementation and open doors for additional funds for the benefit of West Africa Region .
The World Bank currently has committed the sum of $263 million to support 13 projects in the ECOWAS Commissions and Institutions.
