Jubilation in Uyo as Supreme Court affirms Gov. Emmanuel’s election

There has been widespread and spontaneous jubilation in  Uyo following Wednesday’s Supreme Court ruling that affirmed the election of Mr Udom Emmanuel as governor of Akwa Ibom.
Delivering judgement in an Appeal filed by Obong Nsima Ekere and the APC against the judgement of the Court of Appeal, which dismissed his appeal and upheld the judgement of the tribunal, Justice  Musa Mohammed, Who read the lead judgement, held that the Appeal lacked merit.
Wellington Bassey Way, the road leading to the Government House was immediately filled with jubilating youths and women from various political and socio cultural groups as soon as news ovthe judgement filtered in.
The spontaneous reaction was expected as most residents were already waiting for news of the judgement with many following live updates from the various social media handles.
Least than 30 minutes after the judgement was delivered dancing women and some youths in various uniforms filled the entire stretch of the road.
At as at the time of filling this report more groups from different parts of the state have converged on the major road leading into the Government House awaiting the arrival of the Governor.
