A prominent Association, Arewa Film Makers Association, Kannywood, at the weekend, conferred the ” Youths Empowerment and Help Award,” on the Chairman, Senate Committee on Defence and Deputy Chairman, Senate Committee on Anti Corruption, Sen. Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko.
The highly reverred award was conferred on the former Governor of Sokoto State at his Gawon Nama, Sahabi Dange road, Sokoto, residence.
In a citation, the association said that, the members chose the lawmaker for the prestigious award, sequel to his undying commitment to sustenable youths empowerment and his unparalleled milk of human kindness.
The Chairman of the association, Alhaji Zaharaddeen Jalabi said that , Wamakko had ceaselessly continued to support the youths , elderly, women and other vulnerable groups in the State, as well as the North,in general.
He added:” The likes of Sen. Wamakko are very few in the north and in Nigeria. If there were more people like him, the north and Nigeria would have recorded more tangible developments.
” Our association is fully committed to the revival of cultures and traditions in the country, especially in the northern region. Sen. Wamakko is one of our formidable pillars.”
Responding, Wamakko lauded the association for the invaluable gesture, which he noted , will spur him to do more, to further alleviate the sufferings of the youths, women and other vulnerable groups in the society.
The lawmaker, who represents Sokoto North Senatorial District, further admonished them to always consult widely while writing scripts for films and songs .
According to him, ” The art of writing scripts for films requires diligence, patience, as well as ingenuinity. This is in order to produce world class films and songs that are also widely accetable .”
In a related development, Sen. Wamakko has decorated one of his security details, Dauda Yusuf, who was recently promoted to the enviable rank of an Assistant Superintendent of Police ( ASP).
While felicitating with Yusuf, he urged him to continue to be diligent and committed in the discharge of his arduous duties .
Wamakko further admonished the colleagues of the elated promoted Senior Police Officer to emulate him, so as to earn such well deserved promotions.
Colleagues , family members , friends, Associates and relatives of ASP Dauda Yusuf, followed suit by congratulating him.
