Nigeria is now under democratic dispensation in which since 1999 Nigerians enjoys civillian governance on the platforms of various political parties despites so many challenges and grudges in one issue or the other.
In Kano state, PDP, ANPP, have ruled for eight years while APC is currently on the throne to complete it’s mandatory tenure as contained in the Nigeria’s constitution that provides eight years to governors, three years to the local council’s chairmen while the legislators remained unlimited.
Before the states congresses, there was a good and cordial relationship among all the political classes across the state, but after the states leadership election things changed into parallel affairs, where some top ranking personalities drew a line and formed their clan to confront the government side in terms of leadership.
The government side which is claiming to be a genuine side elected Abdullahi Abbas as Kano state APC chairman while the former governor Ibrahim Shekarau and his team choose Ahmadu Haruna Danzago as their factional chairman which teared the Kano APC apart.
In this regard the federal high couy sitting at Abuja nullified the election of governor Ganduje’s ward congresses upholding the former governors side where the two warring sides started full struggles to sieze the leadership as well as the party in the state at all levels.
Following the scenario, all the two factions now claiming the leadership of the party despite the efforts being made to makes things acceptable by APC’s national caretaker committee before the forthcoming February national convention.
Most of the political analysts disclosed that the present situation in Kano APC may create wide margin during the 2023 general elections because all the two factions are having a strong hold of supporters and if urgent measures were not been taken, APC in Kano state would become less might to defeat the opposition party, PDP.
