The Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Jibril Ismail Falgore, has pledged that the 2025 budget proposal presented by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf will receive timely approval to drive Kano State’s development.
This assurance was conveyed in a press statement from the Speaker’s spokesperson, Kamaluddeen Sani Shawai, following the budget presentation on Friday.
During the unveiling of the 2025 Appropriation Bill, Falgore commended Governor Yusuf’s achievements over the past 18 months, particularly in education, healthcare, agriculture, and security. He reaffirmed the Assembly’s dedication to supporting the Governor’s initiatives to promote growth across Kano.
Falgore highlighted the Assembly’s core responsibilities, including enacting laws and overseeing government agencies, and noted the successful passage of several bills in 2024. He also drew attention to the deteriorated condition of the Assembly complex, which has not seen significant renovations in 30 years, urging the state government to allocate funds from the 2024 budget to address this need.
Falgore assured that the ₦549 billion budget for the 2025 fiscal year would be approved before the end of 2024, ensuring its implementation begins promptly in January.
