Kano/Jigawa States Peaceful After 25th February Polls

By Jabirue Hassan, Kano.

In kano and Jigawa States, normal activities after the Presidential, Senatorial and National assembly elections held on 25th February, 2023.

Our correspondent gathered that although there was some minor crisis at Kano state during the polls in some places despite the effort being made by the security agencies to ensure that the polls was hitch free.

Similarly, there was a bit issues with the accreditation machine known as BVAS while the election officers were seen as early as recommended which facilitates early commencement of the election.

Furthermore, there was an adequacy of election monitors and observers from different government and non-governmental organisations where the observers remained vigilant about what is happening across the poling units.

During the Presidential elections, the issue of vote buying is minimal due to the current monetary policy introduced by the Muhammadu Buhari administration though the politicians brought many ways of buying votes from the electorates.

From all indications, the election in Nigeria tends to be healthy and the issue of votes buying may be minimal in the future elections, while the Nigeria’s democracy would continue to get sanity as seen at present.
