Kano Mobilisation, Sensitisation Committee Inaugurated for April National Spokespersons Summit

The National Planning Committee for the Spokespersons Summit, led by Prof. Sule Yau Sule, has inaugurated the Kano State Mobilisation and Sensitisation Committee in preparation for the Second National Spokespersons Summit. The summit is scheduled to take place in April 2025 and is being coordinated under the leadership of Alhaji Ado Sa’idu Warawa, the Station Manager of Freedom Radio.

The summit, a joint initiative between the Federal Ministry of Information and the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), aims to provide a comprehensive guide for image makers, helping them to enhance their effectiveness in their roles.

Inauguration and Committee Mandate

During the inauguration at Freedom Radio premises on Tuesday, Prof. Sule urged the committee members to ensure that spokespersons from ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) in Kano State actively participate in the upcoming summit. The committee’s responsibility also extends to serving as a focal point for spokespersons and information officers across federal, state, and private organisations, ensuring effective communication and collaboration for optimal participation.

The committee is tasked with providing periodic updates to the leadership team, as well as submitting a comprehensive post-event report that highlights achievements, challenges, and recommendations for future summits.

Prof. Sule, who also serves as a Council Member at the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), expressed confidence in the committee’s ability to successfully mobilize participants for the summit. He added that the committee’s work would conclude on the day the event commences.

The committee members include:

  • Chairman: Alhaji Ado Sa’idu Warawa, Freedom Radio Station Manager
  • Vice Chairman: Alhaji Aminu Inuwa, Veteran Public Communicator
  • Members:
    • Comrade Ismail Ammai Maizare, General Manager, Nasira Radio
    • Alhaji Mahmoud Ibrahim Kwari, Correspondent for an International Media Organisation
    • Usman Gwadabe, Director of Public Enlightenment, Government House, Kano (Secretary)

Goals for the Summit

The summit seeks to equip spokespersons with the skills necessary to represent their organisations effectively, improve communication strategies, and enhance their professional capacity. By fostering collaboration among spokespersons across various sectors, the event will be a key platform for strengthening public relations efforts nationwide.
