Kingdom Kids Klub Marks 15 Years, Unveils New Logo and Expands Family-Based Child Care Model

By Israel Adamu, Jos

Kngdom Kids Klub (K3), a non-profit organisation supporting orphaned and vulnerable children, has marked its 15th anniversary with a celebration in Jos, Plateau State, where it also unveiled a new logo and reaffirmed its shift toward family-based care for children.

Founded in February 2006 by Pastor Sandra Dirmwa Chikan, the organisation began as a small orphanage supporting 18 children. It has since grown into an advocacy group promoting trauma-informed care, education, family reunification, and alternatives to long-term institutional care across Nigeria and parts of Africa.

K3 provides short- and medium-term support for children affected by conflict, domestic violence, terrorism, and other crises. While it operates facilities such as Destiny Home, the organisation says its focus is increasingly on ensuring children grow up in safe family environments.

Under Chikan’s leadership as founder and global director, K3 has introduced initiatives including the Stand Out Aging Out Africa (AOA) Mentoring Network, youth camps, scholarships, and support programmes for young people transitioning out of care. The organisation also collaborates with partners such as the Association of Orphanages and Homes in Nigeria (ASOHON).

Speaking at the anniversary event, Chikan expressed appreciation to supporters and partners, noting that the organisation has witnessed “transformed lives, restored families, and brighter futures.

”Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Grace Dongkum, said the organisation’s next phase will focus on expanding partnerships and strengthening community-based approaches that help children grow up within stable families.
