Labour Party Rep Ajang Iliya Defects to APC, Joining Growing Exodus

By   Milcah   Tanimu

Ajang Iliya, the House of Representatives member representing Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency in Plateau State, has officially defected from the Labour Party (LP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Iliya’s departure from the LP adds to the growing number of defections from the opposition party. This comes just days after five other LP lawmakers in the House of Representatives also switched allegiances to the APC.

The latest shift in the political landscape raises questions about the future dynamics in the National Assembly and the power balance between the two major political parties in Nigeria.

As defections continue, the APC strengthens its foothold in the House, while the Labour Party faces growing challenges in retaining its members.
